TOMS x Star Wars

The TOMS x Star Wars collection would be TOMS’ most prominent collection to date, catering to a very massive and passionate fan base. Every minor detail would be critically assessed by the most devoted and thus, the marketing had to become the perfect intersection of the partnership.

 

For the first phase of the collection, I was designed the look and feel of teasing and introducing the shoes in the digital space: landing pages, social media, ad banners, and emails. The objective was to infuse as much of the Star Wars personality and details into the marketing material to get fans excited while maintaining a balance with the visual aesthetic of the TOMS brand.

Teasing the collection

The teaser graphics had to be minimal yet still generate a lot of excitement for what was to come. Digital would be the initial and critical touchpoint of notifying consumers about the collection’s release. I created this animation which transitions from Aurebesh lettering, a prominent language in the Star Wars universe, into English. There is provided some suspense before revealing the partnership logo lockups to show what is to come.

This animation would be translated across emails, ad banners, social media ads and posts (Facebook, Instagram), the TOMS home page, and the collection’s landing page.

Sweepstakes

To get consumers excited and involved with the release of the collection, TOMS launched a sweepstakes campaign to spread the word about the upcoming collection.
